Acaba de ser publicado pela Universidade de Brighton, através da editora  John Wiley & Sons, Ltd., o primeiro livro internacional sobre Water efficiency in buildings. A review of theory and pratice. Este livro pretende apresentar uma nova perspetiva e novas ideias sobre a eficiência hídrica em edifícios, através de comentários teóricos, explorações práticas, estudos de caso, etc.

A ANQIP foi convidada a elaborar um dos capítulos iniciais desse livro, intitulado “Water efficency in buildings. A Portuguese perspective”, o que constitui motivo de satisfação para  a Associação, pelo reconhecimento implícito, a nível internacional, da sua competência e das capacidades neste domínio.

Como referem os responsáveis pela edição, the general objective of the book is to provide a multi-disciplinary yet innovative dimension to the water efficiency debate, starting primarily with the UK context and extending beyond (Europe, worldwide). It will present knowledge and evidence that can be applied to addressing issues pertaining to water efficiency in buildings. More importantly, it will collate and present a much needed multi-disciplinary viewpoint; from architecture to environmental science and socio-psychology, demonstrating how each of these areas can be applied to promote water efficiency in all areas of the supply and demand spectrum. It will also present ways to engage all the important stakeholders to achieve a systems approach to tackling the main challenges faced locally and globally. Lastly, the book will serve as a road map to what can be achieved in the immediate or long term future. It will highlight opportunities and constraints, making policy, social, physical and technological recommendations along the way.
